This is their new signature Pleather texture, scented watermelon bubblegum, jawbreakers, sour lollipops, cotton candy, and ozone. The Pleather texture is replacing Soft Punk’s signature Vinyl texture because the ingredients used to make Vinyl are no longer available. Since I have two of the original Vinyl slimes, I pulled them out so I could compare the differences. The first thing I noticed is that the original Vinyl is much more structured. Pleather feels plusher and softer to the touch. The taffy pulls have less resistance, but it still has that signature Vinyl feel without being sticky. The original Vinyl reminds me of pulling Laffy Taffy. It’s thicker, so when it traps air, the bubble pops are fewer but much sharper. Pleather is still thick, just not quite as dense, so it’s stretchier, inflates more than the vinyl , and produces more frequent and less sharp bubble pops. I ended up enjoying the new version a little more simply because it’s softer, stretchier, and has less resistance while still feeling distinctly like a Soft Punk texture. Side note ~ my two vinyls are months old and still didn’t need activator which is hella impressive. The scent is really lovely. I mostly pick up the watermelon bubblegum, but it’s a well-balanced candy fragrance that isn’t overwhelmingly sweet.
