🖤misery made me by @eastbayslimes 🖤texture: chewy wood glue DIY slay 🖤scent: honeys skin, cotton bindings tinged with blood, stitched leather, beeswax, earth, damp decay Perhaps not the best slime theme on Easter, but I'm going with it anyway lol. I find it fascinating that smell is so triggering because of how our brain processes it - it almost goes straight to the amygdala & hippocampus which process emotion and memory respectively. This is why certain smells can literally bring us to our knees, make us feel nostalgic, make us sad, feel ill at the very thought, etc! For me, the smell rum for example in a dessert makes me immediately averse to whatever contains it because I once got very sick drinking it when I was young and stupid lol. What smells trigger you, whether in good or bad ways? ☠️This slime needed extra time to show off all of its intricate parts, including the gorgeous deep plum topper on its own. I didn't add the black... crunchy things until I was about to start mixing because I didn't want them to cover things up too much. ☠️The clay melted perfectly into a chewy, silky, plump, poppy, non tacky slay. No staining. I love the end color so much. ☠️This scent definitely evokes what hospitals used to smell like to me when I was a kid. Astringent notes hit me first, followed by a very faint metallic tinge and faint powder notes with a light sweetness. Incredibly complex. Medium strength. Amanda, this was an INCREDIBLE DIY experience!
