You set the clay funnel cake on top, dust it with the cornstarch sugar, and it looks exactly like the paper plate you carry away from the fair stand. It has a really nice light fried dough scent that sells the whole thing. Fun fact for the fair lovers: funnel cake did not start out as a midway dessert at all. The Pennsylvania Dutch brought it over in the 1700s and ate it at breakfast, poured through a funnel into hot fat and served with molasses or apple butter. Powdered sugar and the ferris wheel came much later. The ultra thick and glossy base is really incredible on its own. Super stretchy, a really beautiful texture, and great for pops and pokes. My clay piece was a little bit hard so I did work it in, and I think it may just need to live in the slime a bit longer before it fully integrates. I love that the funnel cake is airbrushed by hand. When slime artists do that it makes you appreciate the clay pieces so much more.
